證照差異性?
1. TESL (Teachers of English as a Second Language)
2. TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Language)
TESL及TESOL為在英語系國家境內(加拿大、美國或其他英語系國家)，

3. TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language)
TEFL在非英語系國家，為非以英語為母語之學生教授英語之教師認證，
例如你想在中國、日本或韓國教英文，那麼就必須取得此執教資格證明。
不過，TESL、TESOL以及TEFL現在已經都混在一起使用了，泛指英語師資認證或是訓練英語師資的課程，只是在美洲亞洲較多人稱之為TESOL，在歐洲則較常使用TEFL來稱呼。師資訓練課程的目的在讓學員具備教導英語的能力。課程重點不僅在於改善老師的語言技巧，同時還提供教學法、教育法、課程設計等學習，並讓學生實際在課堂內實習教學。

TESOL證照對職涯有何實質的幫助？有效期?
台灣的教育部規定所有外籍教師需有三年以上的專校文憑及TESOL證照方可成為合格教師，像是美語教學機構－如：何嘉仁美語、巨匠電腦、夏恩英語…等機構，皆要求所聘師資受過此專業培訓並成功取得證照。在國外，有了TESOL證照可以在世界各地進行英語教學教授，有效期限為終身受用，此證照可證明您是一位專業的英文教學工作者，亦可為您的工作價值加分，開拓更寬廣的職場生涯；擁有此證照不僅幫助您在工作上受到聘任，薪資上也會至少提高10~20%；且提供您走向機構管理者或經營者發展的美好未來。
TESOL課程適合甚麼族群，其教學對象為？
TESOL為針對英語為第二外語的老師去學習教學技巧的一門課，所學的內容是包含幼兒、青少年甚至成人為對象的教學內容。不同年齡層的教學方法都會含括在課程內容中。如此一來，每個同學可以學習到的內容會較廣，也對往後應徵不同英語教學的職缺較有利！
TESOL課程認可發照單位?
TESOL國際性英語師資訓練的課程，所獲得的證書由英美語系之語言學校、大專系所或相關機構所頒發，並且通過國際教學評鑑單位的審核。課程通常為短期1-2個月密集完成，也有公立學院提供1年學士後文憑課程 (TESOL Diploma program)，如果在加拿大完成此課程，則畢業後可依照移民局標準申請畢業後工簽。
