依據加拿大政府(IEC)規定，持有打工度假者須持有一年保險證明入境。

此外，同學也經常問到是否需要另外加保旅平險，依照金融監督管理委員會保險局的建議，旅平險的保險內容較初階，僅承保一般出外旅行之風險，如欲赴海外打工度假，建議可加買較為全面的保險內容，除了滿足加拿大政府的規定之外，亦能額外提升並保障自己的權益。
Q&A問答
問：赴海外打工度假，應投保什麼保險商品?
答：
1.有關青年赴海外打工度假所需保險保障，因海外打工所面臨之風險主要為個別民眾之海外工作內容，有別於旅行平安保險所承保一般出外旅行之風險，與現行傷害保險以職業類別風險計收保費之性質較為貼近，應購買個人傷害保險商品因應。因此，建議應正確選購適當之傷害保險商品或醫療保險商品，以提供於海外打工度假期間之保險保障。
2.各保險公司目前提供度假打工青年投保之保險商品種類及投、續保作業流程，可透過產、壽險公會網站之「度假打工專區」連結至各公司網站專區查詢。
問：度假打工青年購買適當保險商品(如：傷害保險商品)之保險費？
答：傷害保險保費的高低，係與民眾投保的保額、保險期間及被保險人的職業類別(即工作危險程度)有關，建議可以考量自身預算的多寡及預訂從事度假打工的工作危險程度來考量，如果有進一步的問題，可以撥打欲投保的保險公司免付費服務電話詢問相關問題。
問：度假打工之青年是否需同時投保傷害保險及旅行平安保險?
答：因傷害險與旅平險均提供意外傷害所致殘廢、身故或醫療保障，惟因度假打工主要風險與工作內容相關，所需保障性質與傷害險較為貼近，故建議已購買傷害險之度假打工青年，毋須再投保旅行平安險。
問：保險公司是否提供急難救助服務?
答：目前除了旅行平安險有提供海外急難救助服務外，部分公司對於符合一定條件(如保額達到一定金額以上)的保戶也會提供海外急難救助服務，建議度假打工青年於出國前投保時可洽詢保險公司是否有提供此項服務，以作為投保之參考。
問：度假打工青年在海外可如何透過網路方式辦理初次投保？
答：
1.依據｢保險業網路投保業務應注意事項｣規定，辦理網路投保必須透過金融憑證或向保險公司辦理首次註冊申請帳戶密碼等方式始得為之，申請帳戶密碼之方式則包括網路及臨櫃二種，應注意事項規定消費者不論是否為該保險公司之既有客戶，都可以透過網路申請帳戶密碼後向保險公司投保傷害保險，並透過其本人的信用卡或存款帳戶做為身分輔助驗證之機制。
2.由於人身保險商品涉及被保險人之人身風險，保險公司在核保上會較為審慎，以避免有道德危險之情形發生。因為度假打工青年人在國外，如果以往未有向保險公司投保之記錄，保險公司將無法透過既有投保資料或生調方式確認相關核保評估事項，所以在非既有保戶透過網路申請帳戶密碼投保者，可以投保的保額會較低，建議消費者先行了解該保額是否符合需求，如果保額不足，最好在出國前就循其他投保方式完成投保手續。
